Hawaii Five-0:
the World Premiere
Filming for 'Hawaii Five-0 the movie' began in late 1967. This two hour TV special was screened for a "selected audience" in New York early in 1968. Five other one hour scripts were written in anticipation of the show being picked up as a weekly series. The audience raved about the scenery, the plot, the music, just about everything except Dan-0#1. Freeman productions took the hint and quickly recast the role for the subsequent series. The special ran one week before the series premiered September 26, 1968. From then on it has been called the pilot or its episode title 'Cocoon'.
Therefore it really was all up to you New York, New York and we say mahalo to you.

Below are photos taken from the opening night party.
*A tiny caveat. These are very exclusive pics. I do not care if you copy them for your personal private enjoyment or to share with friends. However; IF I should find copies of these pics for sale someplace I will be very upset. And as Dr Banner said "You won't like me very much when I'm angry"
