  The Jack Lord Memorial

6/19/2004 Dedication

The statue is located at the Kahala Mall just outside the Macy's entrance. For those not driving this is TheBus and Blue Line trolley stop. The above link is to the mall website which features a page about the statue on its What's New page.

Driving directions from Waikiki: Take the H1 Freeway, East to Waialae Ave. Exit 26B. Stay in your right lane and pass 2 intersections. (Kahala Mall will be on your right.)
Take the next right turn onto Kilauea Ave. Turn right into the mall.

If you are adventurous or 'freeway apprehensive' Kalakaua Avenue turns into Diamondhead(Kahala Avenue) Road. Take this to Pueo(left turn) up to Kilauea Avenue and the mall is right there. If you run into the Mandarin you've gone too far, turn around and go back one street. This IMHO is a much easier and a WAY more scenic route.

And now on to the pictures..............

Since its arrival the statue has been wearing a thick green bag seriously folks, a PLAIN green bag for Jack Lord? I was tempted to paint a few flowers on here but too many witnesses ;)
Prior to the arrival of MOST people the bag was pulled off and the black cover put on.Early arrivals do get sneak peeks :-) As soon as the cover was put on a freak wind blew it off. Was that really a freaky wind or something else
